Finally! Hong Kong

Needed to exit Thailand for visa purposes and decided this was as good a destination for a couple of days as any! First time in Hong Kong.   I've been to almost all of the major metropolitan cities in Asia now (Tokyo, Singapore, Taipei, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Mumbai) with the notable exceptions of Beijing, Shanghai, and Kuala Lumpur. Hong Kong now jumps to number two favorite, behind Tokyo. This city vibrates with energy. More photos, including food, coming later.   This is a series I shot as the sun went down behind a bank of clouds tonight. Classic vista from Victoria Peak,...

Kathmandu Street Scenes

A few more shots from Kathmandu, and also from today's trip into the rural Kathmandu Valley. The earthquake destruction was shocking out there -- I'll post more on that tomorrow. For today, some street scenes and people doing their thing on a Friday afternoon. Oh ...

K-K-K-K-Kathmandu!

When you start getting antsy about being in one place for too long, it's time to run for the hills. And you might as well head for some of the world's highest hills.   Landed in Kathmandu, Nepal, this afternoon and went straight into - what else?! - a food tour on the back of a "Vespa" (or at least what was billed as a Vespa but, well...
